Should You Be the CEO?

“I aspire to be a CEO”

Have you heard that before?

Perhaps you’ve even thought or said it yourself.

What if you are a CEO now?

Do you think you really deserve it?

How often do you doubt yourself as a CEO?

Can you imagine anyone telling you that you shouldn’t be the CEO?

Mostly they wouldn’t dare.

The mirror is the hardest judge, because you are judging yourself – aren’t you?

We need you, the CEO, to be confident yet humble.

We need to know you really care about us, as much as you do for our values and vision.

We need to know that you can earn our trust and respect.

We need to understand that you don’t have all the answers, but can help us find them.

We need to understand how lonely and vulnerable you can be.

We already know that you’ll take ultimate responsibility.

Or do we?

That’s up to you.

Can you be the humble and supportive people expert in the context of your industry?

Or are you seeking personal profit and glory and caring little for your legacy?

Do you have the skill to empower us to feel and be responsible for the best outcomes that we intend?

If you can do that, we will follow you.

Your thoughts and feedback?
