The leadership is responsible for deciding many high level actions, including the vision, the strategy and the goals, hopefully in consultation with their people.
So which of all the decisions a leader makes, is the most important?
I assert that it is deciding to ensure that the right values are chosen by the entire population of the enterprise for the current times.
I further assert that this should be executed afresh, regardless of how long the previous values have been in existence, and regardless of whether they have been authentically followed or not.
I assert that the second most important decision the leader can make is to genuinely model those values in every way possible.
The third most important decision is to ensure there is a compelling vision that expresses those values.
If they execute those three decisions with excellence, everything else will flow more naturally and effectively.
