Imagine this is true.
That Life, including Work, is just a game we have chosen to play.
There are only two games that we can choose from.
Game One is the Game of Altruism, Game Two is the Game of Egoism.
Game One is an uphill struggle which ennobles us.
These players aim for the higher good for all, seeking fairness and value.
In government they are epitomised by those public servants who are there for their community, not just a safe job.
In commerce they are epitomised by those who seek to bring high quality products and services to their community, are fair in their dealings with their employees and marketplace.
In life they are epitomised by those no longer focussing on “What’s in it for me” but rather, “What’s in it for us all”.
These players operate from a place of courage, better practice and continuous learning.
Game Two is an easier downhill slide to nothing.
These players aim for maximum personal emotional and material self-interest.
In government they are epitomised by those who seek safe refuge from risk, effort and service.
In commerce they are epitomised by greed, where money is more important than life.
In life they are epitomised by “What’s in it for me matters most.”
These players operate from a place of fear, useless habits and ignorance.
Some people try to play both games and remain stuck in quandary and uncertainty.
One day they’ll realise that they can’t play two games at once and win either of them.
Which game are you playing?
