“Attitudinal Competence is your ability to adopt and adapt your best attitude for dealing with what has happened, is happening or might happen, and not be stuck with habitual attitudes.”
David Deane-Spread, Attitudinal Competence originator
Why is Attitudinal Competence Important for You?
Why is Attitudinal Competence Important for You?
As an individual you already know your attitudes have a great impact on your outcomes.
As a member of an organisation, you know that the organisation’s overall attitude is its culture.
You know you have a great range of attitudes towards anything and everything.
Some of your attitudes have helped you advance, resolve problems and get through difficulties.
Some of your attitudes have hindered you in advancing, resolving problems and surmounting difficulties.
Can you remember when your attitude helped you achieve something difficult?
Can you remember when your attitude held you back, or caused you to give up?
What if you could, at will, summon the attitude you really need to deal with whatever, and whenever?
Imagine if you could stop your mind from thinking those thoughts that hurt you, stop you from best action, or pursuing your dreams, or stop you from sleeping?
Imagine if you had the flexibility of attitude that enabled you to deal sensibly and effectively with any of these challenges that might confront you:
Your attitude towards any of the above will have massive impact on the eventual outcome.
You know that already.
Know this fact: You can learn Attitudinal Competence easily and it will make a positive difference to your life, your work and your relationships, and most of all, your future.
If that matters to you, read on.
How Long Will It Take to Learn?
Ideally two days of active and enjoyable learning.
However, you’ll be surprised with what you can get from one day.
Coaching will help you master Attitudinal Competence quicker, but wait and see first.
What’s in the Program?
Ideally you need to attend the workshop. Alternatively, you can arrange for one-on-one coaching, which will be more expensive.
You’ll be going through the workbook “Master the Power of Your Attitudes”, bringing to life the insights contained therein. You keep the workbook for your future revision and practice.
You’ll experience the components that make up your attitudes.
You’ll discover your power to change those components at will.
You’ll understand the principles that make Attitudinal Competence work and how you can use them to your advantage.
You’ll experience taking control of your thoughts and how to do it whenever you want to.
You’ll practice the process on your real-life experiences and challenges.
You’ll experience the feeling of relief that you’ve got the power – and always had it.
You’ll be able to design a realistic and useful plan to deal with all the challenges that might or do confront you.
Why Haven’t I Heard of This Before?
Honestly, because we’ve been not great marketers. It’s that simple. We have focussed on delivery to our clients.
Where Has This Program Been Deployed?
Name Them?
We’ll not disclose the private people. However, most of them were a mix of executives seeking advancement and people sent to us by a small group of health professionals who know about Attitudinal Competence.
Here are just a few of the organisations:
Where Did Attitudinal Competence Come From?
Earlier, the originator of the program, David Deane-Spread, was a covert operations leader and trainer in defence, law-enforcement and other government agencies.
Every time something went wrong, loss of cover, loss of life, loss of assets, the matter was investigated to learn why and prevent it from happening again.
The outcome was mostly this “The event occurred because of the attitude of the operator in the moment”
This outcome is common with most human caused accidents, just like pilot error. Even traffic accidents.
They learned that it was Attitude in the Moment that mattered most.
They had to develop a plan to train for attitudinal competence, additional to normal fieldcraft.
At the time, and still too widely held, was the belief that you can’t train for attitude, you either have it or not.
Deane-Spread questioned that belief.
He had already experienced the changes he made to his thinking to be an effective covert operator.
He had experienced resilience and recovery after defeat and crucial losses.
Deane-Spread made it a personal commitment to develop the skills of what we now know as Attitudinal Competence.
After study of a range of disciplines in psychology, high performance, adult learning and neuro linguistic programming (NLP), Deane-Spread wrote a training manual which has since been adapted for wider civilian and commercial use and deployed it via his business operation Metattude, as the workbook “Master the Power of Your Attitudes”
Testimonials
“David handed me a copy of ‘Master the Power of Your Attitudes’ (MPOYA) just over a year ago. This was a time when my attitudes were largely unquestioned, deeply entrenched and often unhealthy. As I worked through MPOYA, I was encouraged to scrutinise these attitudes, often in excruciating detail. It was a lengthy and confronting process; but this should not deter you. After all, rewiring the habits of the mind is no easy undertaking.
If you decide to embark on the journey that is MPOYA, you should not do so without full commitment. Every page has a purpose that, when properly realised, culminates in something very unique: a fresh outlook on life.
I sincerely hope that anyone who reads this testimonial gains as much as I did from this terrific resource.
Good luck on your journey.”
